Thank you for considering me in your journey to personal growth. It can take a lot of courage to reach out for help and as a therapist, it is a privilege to walk alongside you in that journey. I believe you are the expert of your own life and that counselling should serve as a safe space for you to explore and process your thoughts, feelings and emotions in a safe and non-judgmental environment. Everyone comes into counselling with their own strengths, experiences and goals, and therefore I do not believe in a “one-size fits all” approach to counselling. I draw from a number of trauma-informed, body-focused, narrative and feminist approaches to my practice, and strive to find a balance that feels like a fit for you.
I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Clinical Specialization in a Master’s of Social Work (MSW). As a registered social worker, I am licensed through the Alberta College of Social Workers (www.acsw.ab.ca) and adhere to their Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Ethical Practice. I have extensive professional experience working in the areas of trauma, domestic violence, sexual violence, women’s reproductive health, and mental health.
In addition to my private practice, I currently work part-time for a non-profit organization called Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA) providing individual counselling for survivors of sexual violence. Outside of work I enjoy reading, camping, travelling, and spending time at the dog park with my French Bulldog, Beans. I have a strong interest in social justice issues, and am an advocate for LGTBQ+ and feminist issues in both my personal and professional life.
